Our 2012 Pinot has a dark ruby red hue with excellent color concentration. This medium-bodied wine offers inviting aromatics and sublime flavors.  On the bouquet, aromas of dark cherries, blood orange, and cola nut mingle with a hint of savory spice. Flavors of raspberry and bitter cherry, with a touch of zesty spiciness, follow on the palate. The wine has a full mouth feel with a tinge of acidity, followed by a warm and lingering finish.

Vineyard Notes
Our 2012 vintage was sourced from the Dutton-Lorenzo Vineyard in the Green Valley area of the Russian River Valley. Located in the south end of the town of Forestville, this area is known for its cool temperatures and Goldridge sandy loam soil. The climate and soil type are both perfectly suited for the Pinot Noir grape, giving it concentration while maintaining its elegant varietal character.
Production Notes
Mother Nature smiled upon the California wine harvest in 2012. The year began with a mild spring that led to a good fruit set in the vineyards. The summer was near perfect—no major hot spells, but enough warmth to ripen the fruit nicely. The incredible fall weather brought warm temperatures, but again no significant heat waves. All the fruit enjoyed a long, slow ripening process which provided the grapes with well-balanced chemistries and an intensity of flavor. Picking time during harvest came normally due to the abundance of sunshine in September and October. Winemaker Jesses Inman states, “Overall, the quality of the 2012 vintage has really been special and the fruit is rich, ripe and concentrated. The Pinot Noirs are a definite highlight for the year as they show true varietal flavor.”
Winemaker Notes
This Pinot is remarkably well-balanced and perfect for pulling the cork now, or to stash away in the cellar for another 4-6 years.
Food Pairing Notes
Bison burgers with roasted cremini mushrooms, smoked sausage tart with shallots and asparagus, or flash-sauteed arugula with dried cranberries, apricots and walnuts.
