Our Joie de Vivre red blend is not only a favorite of Jeff’s, it has become the signature wine of the Collection. Our 2008 vintage is composed of a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 10% Syrah. The Cab gives this wine an essence of earth and anise spice. The Merlot contributes a lovely complexity with its soft fruit character, round tannin, and herbal notes. The Syrah adds bramble berry fruit, firm tannin, and acidity to the overall blend. Decant for maximum flavor.

Vineyard Notes
The wine is made up of mountain grown Cabernet Sauvignon from the Spring Mountain (Corbett Vineyards), Atlas Peak (Stagecoach Vineyards) and Mayacama (Monte Rosso Vineyards) areas, as well as dry-farmed Merlot from the northern part of the Napa Valley (Solari Vineyard), north of Calistoga, and clonally selected Syrah from Yountville (Page-Nord Vineyards). The 2008 vintage produced some truly beautiful wines. Quality from this vintage is considered very high- the only challenge being the lack of quantity. With one of the harder frosts to date, crop levels were small.
Production Notes
The wines were fermented separately prior to blending. After gentle crushing and a two-three day cold soak, a combination of punchdowns and pumpovers were employed during fermentation to gain maximum extraction from the skins without harsh tannins.
Winemaker Notes
This outstanding blend should be decanted for the best fruit flavors to show. It is presently ready to drink, but has been crafted to enjoy for years to come.
Food Pairing Notes
The 2008 Joie de Vivre can complement a variety of different food dishes, such as lamb, beef shank and savory chicken dishes.

This is our go-to gift when we want to thank someone truly special! My husband and I sent this amazing blend to each of his company's owners - they all commented on how much they enjoyed it.
