Our 2008 vintage is 100% mountain Cabernet. It has subtle vanilla notes on top of dark fruit aromas, with undertones of Napa dust- a famous smell existing in a good Napa Cab. The fruit is framed by coating, but velvety, tannins. The ripe blackberry fruit and cassis flavors are well framed, giving this wine great balance.

Vineyard Notes
The 2008 Jeff Gordon Cab is composed of grapes from two mountain vineyards on opposite sides of the Napa Valley. Stagecoach Vineyards are located on the rocky, volcanic soils of Atlas Peak and Corbett Vineyards sit on a rocky hillside north of St. Helena in the Spring Mountain appellation.
Production Notes
The 2008 vintage produced some truly beautiful, high quality wines, however, quantities were low. With one of the harder frosts to date, crop levels were smaller than usual. With mountain fruit these vineyards were able, with their light crops, to produce an intense and complex wine. The two vineyard lots were fermented separately prior to blending. After gentle crushing and a two day cold soak, a combination of punchdowns and pumpovers were employed during fermentation to gain maximum extraction from the skins without harsh tannins.
Winemaker Notes
Enjoy now through 2026 with proper cellaring
Food Pairing Notes
Decant this rich Cabernet to enjoy now with a seasoned Ribeye, chorizo lasagna or heavy cheeses, or you may cellar it to savor for years down the road.

Once decanted this Cab is spectacular. Smooth tannins, bold flavor. It is phenomenal with a beef entre. Can only get even better if cellared for another year or two. One of our JG favorites.

Ordered this wine for our 15th wedding anniversary and it was exceptional with beef wellington. One our JG favorites.

This wine was given to my husband and myself for our anniversary by his parents. We sit down after dinner to toast our special occasion. I was so disappointed. It was so shockingly bitter you could barely tolerate it. We all ended up pouring it out.
