Score: 89 points
Rich in acids, ripe in fruit and balanced, with a silky texture, this is a very pretty Pinot Noir for drinking now. It has ripe, dry flavors of forest raspberries and cherries, bacon, sauteed mushrooms and cola. -S.H.

Jeff Gordon 2008 Carneros Chardonnay
Score: 92 points
Acidity, minerals and lower alcohol combine to make Gordon's '08 far superior to the 2007. There's a bracing steeliness to the pineapple and green apple fruit, which is cleansed with racy acidity. The oak is a little strong, but this is a lovely, complex Carneros Chardonnay to drink now. -S.H.

Jeff Gordon 2008 Carneros Chardonnay
Score: 87 points
Ripe-leaning and focused on Gala apples with a whiff of tropical flowers, this medium-full-bodied effort is somewhat rounded in palatefeel at entry before becoming firmer and a little bit on the stiff side in progression. Its finishing angularity is moderated by a noticeable glyceriny edge, and there is plenty of depth here to keep the interest level up.

Wine Review: On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and its fruit flavors build up in the mouth. The finish is dry and its mild oak tannins are mild. Our mini group thought this Cab would pair nicely with beef bourguignon.
