We are only able to ship to states which have laws permitting shipment of wine directly to consumers and in which we currently hold the appropriate licenses. These states, at present, are:
Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
Even though we ship to the above listed states, in accordance with their respective state laws, there may be certain zip codes within the state that we cannot ship to. Certain state laws regulate the number of cases of wine that can be shipped annually to a single person. If your order is affected, we will contact you.
States prohibited by law for the direct shipment of alcohol are: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Montana, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota and Utah.
Don’t see your states listed in either of the paragraphs above? Feel free to contact us to find out if we have initiated the license application process for your state.
For more information and a state by state analysis of direct shipping laws, please visit the Wine Institute website.
At this time, we are only able to ship within the United States.
In addition, our wines can be found in select retail and restaurant locations in North Carolina, Virginia, California and Pennsylvania. Please refer to the Retail/Restaurant page for information.
Prior to placing your order, please be aware of the following restrictions, and our tips to ensure your wine is delivered in a safe and timely manner.
An adult signature (21+) is required for delivery. Carriers will not leave packages unattended regardless of having a signature on file. They will commonly make 3 attempts at delivery. It is the responsibility of the customer to contact the carrier to arrange for alternate delivery after the order has shipped (change of address fees may be passed along to you if we are billed by the carrier). If the carrier has attempted to deliver your package unsuccessfully and it is returned to us, you may be credited for the order amount plus tax. You will, however, be responsible for the original shipping charges plus a $15 service fee. Please be advised that any credits issued may take 30-45 days after verification of the return.
If possible, we recommend shipping to a business address where the package can be accepted throughout the day and week. Please note our packages are labeled as containing wine and requiring an adult signature -- so you may want check with your employer first.
Our wines ship from American Canyon, CA. Please be advised that we generally ship out orders early in the week so that your wine will not be sitting dormant during an upcoming weekend, as common carrier deliveries are Mon-Fri only. Therefore, if you place an order from mid-week through the weekend, your order may be held and processed the following Monday or Tuesday. We make every attempt to pick, pack and ship orders as quickly as possible, but please be aware that there is no guarantee that the process begins the same day you place your order, no matter what day of the week the order is placed.
Wine may be sold and delivered only to persons who are at least 21 years old and by law, a signature is required for delivery. By placing your order, you represent that you are at least 21 years old and that the person to whom delivery will be made is at least 21 years old. When your wine is delivered, the person receiving the package may be required to show identification proving that he or she is at least 21 years old. Wine will not be delivered to a visibly intoxicated person.
By law, alcohol cannot be shipped to PO Boxes or APO/FPO addresses.
If you are shipping a gift, please alert the recipient so they can expect the delivery. Spoiling the surprise is a better alternative than spoiling the wine!
Monitor your order status and tracking each time you order. Please keep in mind that delivery days are generally Monday-Friday, no Saturday and Sunday.
For our East Coast customers, we recommend ordering on the weekend or early in the week. This will ensure timely delivery and avoids the potential of your packaging sitting at a facility over the weekend.
If your purchase is returned to us by the common carrier for any reason, you will be billed for shipping the return at the full shipping charge without coupons or promotions applied. We will then contact you to determine if you want the order shipped again or refunded, but, in no case will any shipping charges be refunded. If you choose to ship the product again, you will be charged for the shipment at the full shipping charge without coupons or promotions applied. In addition, you may be charged a restocking fee for the product that has been returned. Please be advised that any credits issued may take 30-45 days after verification of the return.
Due to the complexities involved with shipping wine, we cannot guarantee the date you will receive your shipment under any circumstance. However, we will make every effort to get the wine to the designated party as soon as possible. If you require the wine to be delivered by a specific date, please clearly indicate this information when ordering.
We accept payment through the following credit card types: Visa®, MasterCard®, and American Express®. Jeff Gordon Cellars will not be responsible for any fees, penalties, costs or expenses associated with insufficient funds or any charge or attempted charge to a credit or debit card.
Jeff Gordon Cellars and its affiliates assume no liability for wine damaged due to poor weather during transport or delayed delivery. Please check weather conditions prior to ordering and ensure that someone at least 21 years of age will be available to receive the wine upon delivery.
We ship year-round, though we do not ship on major holidays or on weekends. We recommend choosing overnight or 2-day shipping options during the summer months and during extreme weather conditions (i.e. heat and/or cold). We reserve the right to limit delivery options to expedited methods or to delay the release of shipments during such times in order to protect the integrity of our wine.
Although weather can at times be a factor, the most frequent cause of damaged wine is due to multiple delivery attempts – so we cannot stress enough the importance of ensuring there is an adult over 21 to sign for your order during the first attempt at delivery. If the carrier has attempted to deliver your package unsuccessfully and it is returned to us, you may be credited for the order amount plus shipping, however a $15.00 fee will apply. Please be advised that any credits issued may take 30-45 days after verification of the return.
